Four Seasons introduces customized driving tours in the Swiss Alps and Napa Valley for the first time

Imagine weaving through hairpin bends in the Swiss Alps behind the wheel of a classic convertible – charming villages dot the landscape; dramatic landscapes at every turn.

While this could be the intro for a new Bond film, it’s actually one of two new Four Seasons Drive Experience itineraries.

The “Heart of the Alps” tour, revving up its engines this year from 12th to 18th June, crosses three regions over seven unforgettable days, with visits to renowned wineries, the home of Gruyère cheese and the Lavaux vineyards , which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, to name a few highlights.

It is complemented by the equally spectacular “Napa Valley Journey”. Instead of sweeping over mountain passes, however, this itinerary — October 29 through November 4 — offers exclusive access to wineries and even takes off briefly with a hot air balloon ride.

While the two are very different tours, they all share one common thread: signature service and five-star hotels, with experiences tailored by the Four Seasons team for each traveler.

“Four Seasons Drive Experience is a natural extension of who we are and what we deliver – creating curated experiences that allow guests to discover the character of a place in new and unexpected ways,” said Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

“At the wheel of a luxury vehicle, guests will enjoy an exceptional driving experience, always with the service of Four Seasons and a real heart as a guide.”

After a few days from Geneva’s Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues, the alpine itinerary continues to the chalet-style Four Seasons Hotel Megève with numerous stops along the way including the Mont Blanc massif with 360 degree views of France, Italy and Switzerland.

In Napa, guests stay amidst the region’s rolling vineyards at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences and enjoy day trips such as an in-depth oyster farm and gourmet lunch at Tomales Bay and an exclusive tour of Opus One Winery.

Both experiences follow on from last year’s hugely successful Tuscan itinerary, which included centuries-old wineries and the enchanting Renaissance city of Florence.
